Like the game, this soundtrack is an amalgam of all things Batman, of the Danny Elfman music from Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns, Batman the Animated Series and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. Just wanted to throw those thoughts out there for those of you who have bought these in the past as well. I just always liked owning physical copies of CDs and I was always impressed with Amazon's packaging of these. All of my Batman video game scores are CDRs and this one by far is the cheapest looking one. If they continue to look like this, I'll just burn the things myself.

The track listing begins on page 2 and because there isn't enough room to put the last track on.they insert it on page 7 by itself. The track listing is done in a weird way too. You still get a CD insert on the glossy paper, photos from the game (or movie), but no picture on the disc and the back cover on the CD case is basically blank. The last two CDRs that I have purchased (San Andreas & Arkham Knight) share the same problems. In the past, you'd have a picture stamped on the disc, a back cover with the track listing on it, and better organization of the liner notes etc. However, recently Amazon seems to be getting a little slack in this department and are cutting some corners on how these CDR discs look. They come packaged looking like something you'd buy from a real record company. You'd never tell that it is a CDR burned on demand for you.

Typically, their "pressings" of the disc are really quite professional looking. I have always been impressed with this program offered by Amazon and have bought a few of these in the past.

I assume that this release covers the music from the first half of the game and maybe Volume 2 will conclude the story?įor those of you who like to have a physical copy of the score, Amazon offers a CDR of this release. The score for this particular game does sound a bit darker than the others and you can defiantly tell that it isn't quite finished yet. This is another great score in the series and if you've been following along, you certainly won't be disappointed. I don't know what is happening here in the game.but I like the theme treatment in this particular piece. My favorite track is 24, "All Who Follow You". I haven't played the game yet but I've watched the demos online and it certainly is impressive. The music fits so well with the story and characters that you can't help but visualize this world the music helps to establish. The great thing is, the score definitely has the "Arkham Knight feel" to it. Track 17, "Dark Skies", is an example of the more scary side of the score. At times, the score tends to get really frightening and you would think that it's from a horror film. The score sounds great and contains a blend of action music (mostly done by Arundel) and a blend of ambient "investigative" music. I'll be looking forward to how it concludes in Volume 2. The score's last track (27), "Crowd Control", does end abruptly and gives the entire thing a very unfinished feel to it. This particular score is listed as Volume 1 and you are getting 27 tracks that run a total of 1 hour and 8 minutes. It's great to hear that theme used again here in various ways in Arkham Knight. Nick Arundel's main theme for the Arkham City score is still one of my favorite Batman themes even when compared to the movies. I always look forward to the soundtrack scores for the Batman video games.
